Your guarantee, backed by an insurer — not just a promise.
JRP Ltd is a QANW-accredited member. Here's what a QANW Insurance Backed Guarantee actually covers, and why we include it for extra peace of mind.
What is it?
Valuable, independent consumer protection
Most reputable contractors are happy to guarantee their workmanship for a number of years — often up to a decade. In the normal course of things, if a defect appears, the contractor simply returns and puts it right at no cost, exactly as promised.
The catch is that a written guarantee is only as good as the company standing behind it. Businesses do occasionally close, even ones that traded soundly for years — and if that happens, a written guarantee alone can't help you.
A QANW Insurance Backed Guarantee removes that risk. It's a genuine insurance policy, underwritten by a separate UK-regulated insurer, that pays to put things right if we're ever unable to.

The difference
Written guarantee vs. Insurance Backed Guarantee
Both protect you against defects — but only one keeps working if the contractor doesn't.
Contractor's written guarantee only
- Only valid while the contractor is trading
- No independent insurer standing behind it
- Cover ends if the business ceases to trade
QANW Insurance Backed Guarantee
- Cover for the full stated period — up to 10 years
- A dedicated insurance policy for your property
- Protects you if the contractor ceases trading
- Underwritten by a UK-regulated insurer
Eligible works

- 3. Valid claims — the survey fee is refunded (minus the policy excess), and reasonable rectification costs are met up to the policy limit.
